We are all zoomed out. I get it, but how do you create a fun place for student to hangout? Creating a fun space over zoom can be difficult, so here are 5 fun and easy zoom games you can play with little or no set up.
Sherlock Holmes. One person leaves the room, and you change something on a person in the zoom call. This could be a hat, change a shirt, add glasses. The person gets 10 guesses.
Word shoot out. You pick a letter and each person has to type into the zoom chat a famous person, place, animal, and a thing that starts with the letter.
Wink murder. Wink murder is a classic youth ministry game, it’s a game of guessing and acting. You do not need anything to play this game. One student is the assassin and must finish off as many students as they can, before getting caught. The assassin private messages the victim ‘wink’. When a user gets this message, they must tragically play-act die, and turn off their video feed. The remaining players then vote on who they believe the assassin to be. The player with the most votes gets kicked out. The game continues until the assassin is caught.
Scavenger hunt. I see this all the time on zoom calls. I recently saw this at the orange conference. All you need to do is pick a few players, and post a few objects that you know everyone will have in their house. Just a note, this game could be a hot mess.
Trivia Games. Download a game from a digital store. You can check out our games at www.youthministry.store. Screen share and get students to guess with the comments. The student with the most correct answers gets a pizza delivered to their house.
Bonus: Rock, Paper, Scissors. I saw Mr.Beast do this on youtube with other youtube celebrities. What a fun and simple way to create a unique environment on zoom.
Build a bracket on a white board, and have elimination style game. Pretty simple, but you can upgrade the game if you give out great prizes.
Those are 5 games that can help you upgrade you zoom calls. I hope that helps.
