What Bible do you use for reading?
I didn’t ask what Bible do you use for studying, or sermon prepping in. What Bible do you personally read. If you don’t have a good Bible to read, I would recommend the ESV Single Column Journaling Bible. This might be the best Bible on the market if you are into writing in the margins.
About 6 years ago, I purchased the ESV Journaling Bible. It was a great Bible. The only thing I didn’t like about it was that I always had to write the verse number down, so that if I went back to read the notes later, I could tell what verse I was talking about.
When crossway decided to make a ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, I was all over it.
Here is what you get if you check out this awesome Bible:

Here is how I plan on using this awesome Bible:
Every 5 years I will purchase a new ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, and save the old one full of notes and other markings from reading it for one of my kids. They will get this Bible when they graduate from high school. It’s just a simple way that my kids would see that their dad loves the word, and is constantly being changed by it.
Every day for the next few years, I will write out part of a Psalm each day. I will use the book The Songs of Jesus: A Year of Daily Devotions in the Psalms, by Tim Keller as a guide.
My last ESV journaling Bible went every where with me, and it has so many awesome notes in it. We have been through so much, and it was kind of sad to start a new one.
Every Pastor needs an awesome Bible that they can mark up, and essentially live in. If you are looking for a great Bible for a friend, student, or your lead/senior pastor this is the Bible to give them. The ESV Single Column Journaling Bible is the best personal Bible on the market. It’s worth your money, and it’s worth all the time you will spend marking it up as you spend time with Jesus.
