What Bible do you give out to students?

In the past I have given out tons of different Bibles.  I am always on the look out for great Bibles that will help the students that I serve grow in their faith and walk with Jesus.  Recently, I stumbled across the ESV Student Study Bible .  I was instantly impressed with the look of it, and how useful this Bible could be in the hands of a student.  I have been using the ESV Student Study Bible for the past few weeks for my own personal daily devotional time, and I am really loving it.

Here is the write up from ESV’s website about the ESV Student Study Bible:

The ESV Student Study Bible is adapted from the ESV Study Bible and is ideally suited for students who are serious about God’s Word—who want to learn more about what the Bible teaches and how the Bible applies to all of life.

With 12,000 clear, concise study notes, the ESV Student Study Bible provides numerous features—including nearly 900 “Did You Know?” facts, 120 Bible character profiles, and topical articles. It also features a glossary of key terms, more than 80 maps and illustrations, an extensive concordance, and 80,000 cross-references. These and many other features make it the most comprehensive and content-rich student Bible available today.

Here is what I love about this Bible:

Free Access Online.  Every student Bible today needs to feature some way that students can access this Bible on their phones.  ESV does this will all their study Bibles and you can access them online or on your ESV app.

The 900 new “Did You Know” facts.  I have been learning a lot from these little facts.  This really helps the reader to dive deeper and ask great questions.  I always wonder if student who grow up in the church lack great questions because they don’t see people ask great questions.  This Bible has 900 different facts that will lead the student to ask other questions about the text.

The 12,000 clear, concise study notes.  I personally think that the ESV Student Study Bible is the best study Bible on the market.  They essentially added the study notes and added more “did you know” facts.  How can you go wrong with all those notes?  It only helps the student to dive deeper into the word.

More than 80 maps and illustrations throughout.  I am a visual learner, and I love this feature in the ESV Student Study Bible.  It helps bring context and clarity to the culture and context that the writer intended.  I think that your students are going to love this feature.  It really brings life to each book of the Bible.

Conclusion:

The ESV Student Study Bible is the best study Bible I have seen for teenagers.  I know that student can struggle with the awkwardness of the ESV text sometimes, but if they really want to dive deeper into the Bible and study it, the ESV Student Study Bible is worth it.

This Bible is perfect for Sr. Highers, and students graduating.  I wouldn’t buy this Bible for Jr.highers.  This is a great Bible.  You can get it on amazon for $20.  I am giving these to every student graduating this year.
