We have talked a lot in the past about smart phones, and our addiction to them.  We wrote a post  called, Are you addicted to your smart phone?, which featured a cool test to take.  We also wrote a post calling for the need for a Digital Sabbath.  Trust me, you need to turn off your devices and take some time away from them.  More importantly we need to model to the students we work with how to own a smart phone without being owned by it.

Here is this weeks infographic on smart phones.  Here are a few things that stand out to me:

1. 65% of iphone users said: ” I can’t live without my iphone”.  This is crazy!  Can’t live without?  I know that my iphone is useful, and makes me feel more productive, but I love turning the thing off so I can enjoy my family.  I realized a few years ago that I was addicted to my iphone on holidays when I left it at home.  I wanted to check it all the time.  Every holiday I have now, the phone stays at home.

2. Study 40 minutes more each week on the go.  This is awesome.  I could see how your phone would help you study.  You could listen to lectures on transit, or where ever you are.  You could read articles online, or interact with others online for class projects.

Here are a few things that stand out to me.  What else stands out to you?  Are you addicted to your phone?
