Where are all the youth pastors?

where are the youth pastors Where are all the youth pastors?

What are you doing?

I have amazing youth pastors checking out this site daily.  I am amazed at the comments and the quality of you people.  We have a  great tribe of youth workers.  At some point I feel that we have lost our voice.

Recently, I joined a really awesome network of up and coming youth workers called www.youthmin.org.  I will be guest posting monthly, but I felt it was important to be apart of a network.  I am excited to be apart of it.  You really need to check it out.  It got me thinking about youth ministry and the up and coming voices.  Not the voices of the youth pastors with the biggest youth ministries, I mean the men and women in the trenches that are pushing us to where youth ministry needs to go.  We live in exciting times, and your voice matters! (On a side note if you feel like you are stuck and need technological help please email me!)

I want to hear your voice and make sure that I connect with you.  Could you please leave me your site/blog so I can add it into my rss feed, and also your twitter name so I can retweet you to all the people that follow this site.  I look forward to connecting with you and building this great tribe of youth workers.

    1. All those feeling a call to Student Ministry need to prayerfully launch out and build if even from the ground up, great opportunities to minister to the students in their area.
    2. Those needing Student Ministers need to connect with those who have committed Student Ministers to understand how to treat and keep them.

Hey there! Tonya from Columbus, Ohio here. My husband and I have been youth leaders at two different churches. One church shut us down because there were too many kids and not enough workers, (and because they were scared of the kids), and another split, which also split our group and sent us hurtling into our carport which was actually a good thing. We have been there ever since – carport, living room and back yard, because we refuse to let our kids get hurt again. Our ministry is now interdenominational and independent and we fund it out of our own pockets and from supporters who believe in what we’re doing. A wonderful Christian lady we know bought us our own 501c3 and so here we are! The group is now performing arts focused (teaching kids how to use their talents for the glory of God) and we have been going strong since 2005! It has blossomed up to about 50 kids at one point and has shrunk down to just a couple kids sometimes. When that happens, we don’t shut down – we take them to Taco Bell or Steak N Shake and teach them what we had planned and it’s always just what they needed to hear! We could use some help setting up a decent website though, because we don’t really have much talent in that area. I already have a domain and everything, I just need to learn how to get the information from my computer onto the domain without it shifting all around! Anyways our Facebook is facebook.com/generationactz, and that’s where we’re at right now. Blessings, John & Tonya, Tommy and Generation Actz
