Programs you need!
Programs are the necessary feature for every designer. Here are ones that you need to make sure are in your youth ministry budget. Each week there will be posts that will help you figure out how to use these programs. Once you have these programs in place you will be able to whip up posters/promo material/visuals for talks in no time.
Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphic editor from adobe. Once you have this program and all the right links to vectors all you do is find the images you want to use, and open and edit away. This program will take some getting used to, but you will be whipping out professional material in no time.
Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems. This program is a must. I will show you how to import brushes and add text so that you will be able to easily make material for youth ministry on the fly.
Keynote is the best presentation software on the market. It is easy to use, and looks amazing. This is one reason to purchase a MAC. My Senior Pastor uses it and will never switch back. Also if you have an iphone you can add it as a remote to control your presentations. Go and check it out.
Apple Pages is like publisher on steroids. I use this program every time I make something I am going to hand out to students or parents. I always get comments on how professional things look. Pages has tons of features and templates to help anyone make top notch material.
