What do you use to take photos?
My guess is that you use your phone. Remember back in the day when we would use digital cameras? Well, I take all the photos on my iPhone 6s now. The camera is great, and the image is sharp. It’s easy to post photos to my instagram, Facebook, and twitter accounts for my youth ministry. My phone is the one shop stop for taking photos, editing, and then publishing them.
I stumbled across a really cool lens kit for the iPhone called Olloclip.
Here is what Olloclip is:
The olloclip brand includes a growing line of ground-breaking tools and accessories for the mobile photographer. Leveraging the phenomenal success of its flagship product, the 4-IN-1 Photo Lens, the company continues to innovate with products like the new wearable 4-in-1 lens for iPhone 6 & 6 Plus and other revolutionary products like the Telephoto + CPL lens, Macro 3-IN-1 lens and Quick-Flip™ case — all designed to push the parameters of what’s possible in mobile photography.
The KickStarter crowdfunding platform inspired founder Patrick O’Neill to evolve his olloclip concept into a reality. Since then, olloclip has attracted a legion of passionate users in just a few years’ time, not to mention distribution through Apple retail stores worldwide and through leading retailers across the globe including Amazon. The company remains committed to finding new and exciting ways to enhance the mobile photography category — and make capturing and sharing life’s experiences more fun and creative.
Here is why this is useful to youth pastors:
You can take your phone out, and ad an lens. The next thing you know, you are taking amazing shots. I am really surprised how nice these lenses are. They fit the phone great (you can’t have a screen protector on), and they are easy to interchange. I was a little skeptical at first, but once I started to use them, they come with me everywhere. I am looking forward to filming some skateboarding this summer with my wide angle lens.
olloclip ACTIVE LENS for iPhone 6/6s and 6/6s Plus (this is the one we bought!)
These lens could be really useful for you and your ministry. It has been really useful for my ministry. The only think I would love is if all the lenses would be able to fit all the phone generations. At least me and my coworkers have iPhone 6 and up. This way we can pass the lens kit around during youth nights or retreats.
The Olloclip is really useful for churches and youth ministries. It’s worth working an extra $100 into your budget so that you can take photos and upload them right away.
