[infographic] The Guide to Facebook for Businesses

Do you have a facebook page?  If you don’t have a facebook page for your youth ministry, you need to make one.  Here is my tutorial, Timeline for Facebook Pages: The Almost Complete Guide.  If you want an effective way of communicating to teenagers, facebook is the answer.  Here is a great infographic on the guide to facebook for businesses.  I think this can be helpful for your youth ministry, and your church get a handle on facebook pages.
Here are a few things that stand out to me!
1. Tell a story.  What is your youth ministry about?  When did it start?  Who are the leaders, and when did they start?  Are there other milestones that help tell the story of your youth ministry?
2. Communicate visually!  The role of the cover photo is to communicate your important information.  For my youth ministry, I post the current series on my timeline!  I think it’s a reminder of what is going on.
3. Interaction.  Setting up a facebook page is all about interaction/involvement.  I am doing a series for my youth ministry where the students can vote on the topics.  This was a great way to see the students get involved.

Infographic: Facebook and recruiting

Here is the latest infographic on facebook.

Will this information change the way churches look for pastors?  Will they eventually use facebook to recruit staff?

Here are some stats that stood out to me:

1. %58 of users have liked a brand.   You are what you like.  I remember awhile ago I like a space heater on facebook and my dad called to ask if I was warm enough in my basement suite.

2. %59 percent of facebook users have liked a brand and shared it.   I will post eventually on a digital evangelism strategy. There is a huge market for churches to share all their streaming video online and use the correct tagging.  The really cool thing is that you could have a testimony at church, or a baptism and reach 100’s if not 1000’s of people online!

3. Starbucks is the top brand.  Really?  I am surprised by this.  What is the top church online?
