[infographic] Pinterest Data You Can’t Ignore

Are you on pinterest?  If you are we would love to follow you.  Please leave a link in the comment box at the end of the post.  Youth ministry media is current on pinterest and even though I had to trade my mancard in to go on pinterest, I am loving the layout.  It is basically a visual version of twitter.  I think pinterest is here to stay.
Here are a few things that stand out about this infographic on pinterest.
1. Visually above everyone else.  I do see the potential of this in youth ministry.  Especially, when it comes to Bible reading/memorization.  I love being able to see what other youth groups are doing, and then pinning them to save for later.
2.  80% of pins are repins.  Think about that for a second.  That is huge.  How often are your tweets retweeted?  If you pin something there is a huge chance that it will be repinned.  I have seen this with my pinterest account.  Something will get pinned 10-15 times by random people.
3.  47% of the demographic is between 18-34.  Again, the millennials are leading the charge here.  Churches who want to reach these demographics have to start thinking differently.

Why Pinterest is so Addictive!

 Are you on pinterest?

If you are, then make sure to follow my profile.  I resisted as long as I possibly could. Joining up made me think I was going to lose my man card or something like that.  A friend, Seventy 8 Productions, joined pinterest, and I decided to follow along.  With joining pinterest I had to make sure that it was going to be worth while.  Here is one infographic that you need to take into consideration.

1. 80% percent repins!   This is just crazy!  Twitter has a retweet rate of 1.4%.  This is one reason off the top on why you need to join today!  Pinterest people are pinvangelists.  They will repin your articles to the masses!

2. Unique Visitors.  Look at that expand.  I can’t believe that one month they expanded 53%!  That is just ridiculous.

3. On average people spend 98 minutes a month on pinterest!  Pinterest is only third to facebook, and tumbler.  I can see this growing quickly if men get on board.

So, are you a believer yet?  Are you going to join pinterest?  If you are make sure to follow Youth Ministry Media.

Are you on Pinterest?

I resisted for awhile.  I didn’t think pinterest would be worth while.  I was over at Seventy 8 Productions: Social Media Review, and I noticed that Jeremy was using pinterest.  I asked a few questions, and then decided to give it a try.

To be honest…I am really enjoying Pinterest.  I love that it is a collaborative site.  It love that I can repin your pins, or that you could easily repin my pins.  It is defiantly worth it, and I am starting to find traffic heading to this site!

If you are on Pinterest please add me.  You can add me by clicking this link.  I look forward to connecting with you over on pinterest.  I am so excited to be apart of a great youth pastor community.
